43 Boats!

What a fantastic day we had on 21 September.  An unprecedented 43 boats took to the water to take part in Bart's Bash.  Never before have so many craft raced together at Goring.  The logistics of launching this size fleet took some careful planning from the organizing committee, but we did it.  There were our usual dinghy's on the water: lasers, comets, toppers etc but we had a special appearance of a Drascombe Lugger complete with Dougal the golden labrador as crew.  Watch this space for future postings of photos and more from the event.

Topper dates for you diary

Please note the following:

The Oxford traveller/coaching is one of our nearest events it would be really great to take a crowd from GTSC. It is the same day as Bart’s Bash and the J Middleton Stewart Trophy so the club will need the club Toppers – however if there is enough interest (at least three people) I will see if I can borrow some boats from Topper – there will be a cost , but fairly negligible.

How about trying for an RYA Zone Squad place

– you need to enter the national series events. The first one for 2014/15 is at Rutland Water  - see www.gbrtopper.co.uk for more details
