Events and Training

The club's aims are to provide sailing and social facilities for its members and to encourage sailing and dinghy racing on the Thames. A programme of events and training is organised throughout the season.

Would you like to learn to sail or brush up on your sailing skills?

Introduction to the club and boats will be held on 9th May  and at 11:00 whenever there is a Novice & Junior Series Race.
 

Saturday Sailing – Last Saturday of each month between May and September (except June).  Supervised sailing with Safety Boat in attendance.

RYA-certified training courses available - If you fancy attending one of the courses or are interested in learning to sail please send a message to 'Training'.  RYA Training course (4 days) 11-12 September and 18-19 September 2010.

RYA Certified Powerboat courses. – learn how to use a powerboat confidently and safely.
Want to help out at the club but aren’t interested in sailing? Or, already sail but want to do more?
Once you have RYA Powerboat level 2 you can join the safety boat team providing cover for Sunday racing and other events throughout the year.

RYA Start Race Training
RYA Start Race training days will be held subject to demand (adult members only) , to introduce the novice to the basics of racing and for those who wish to refresh their knowledge.

RACING
Racing takes place every Sunday afternoon from early March to the middle of November and on Wednesday evenings from mid May until the first week in September.  Please see the Events calender for details. Goring Thames Sailing Club reminds all competitors that they are subject to the sailing instructions and they are personally responsible for the decision to sail.
